About Me
I was born and raised in Idaho surrounded by love and support from family and friends. Ever since I was in elementary school, my dream job has been to teach. No matter what changes occurred in my life, the dream to teach always stayed close. I took up every opportunity to work with kids as I grew up. From babysitting and summer camp to coaching and volunteering in classrooms, the common factor was to grow and learn from others in my journey to becoming a teacher.
One of the best decisions I ever made was to accept a volleyball scholarship to The College of Idaho. Originally, I came to this school for the great volleyball program, but I stayed and loved the school as much as I did because of the exceptional education program. Spring semester of my freshman year, I was already in the classroom teaching lessons, observing, and gaining experience. Each year, each placement, taught me new and exciting ideas. The knowledge and experience that I gained during my undergrad, only strengthened my desire to teach kids. The College of Idaho campus creates a sense of community that I always knew I wanted to instill inside my classroom walls.
I am currently pursuing my certification, post-graduation, as I complete my 5th year internship. My degree proved to be remarkably effective as I was fortunate to have landed a full-time position, just 2 months after earning my degree. Currently, I am a 2nd grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School where I get to live my dream each day. Teaching is even better than I expected. It is much more challenging than I ever realized but the reward of teaching little minds makes my heart full.
